Overview
Nodsly is an automated review collection platform that sends SMS review requests to customers on behalf of businesses. Nodsly only sends SMS messages to customers who have explicitly opted in — no message is ever sent without confirmed consent.
Consent is collected at the point of customer entry: when a business adds a customer to the Nodsly dashboard, they are required to confirm — via a mandatory checkbox — that the customer has agreed to receive SMS messages. If this box is not checked, the customer cannot be saved and no messages will be sent.
How Consent Is Collected — The Nodsly Add Customer Flow
Every time a business adds a new customer to Nodsly, they must complete a required consent confirmation before the customer record can be saved. This is enforced directly in the Nodsly dashboard "Add Customer" modal:
Business Obtains Customer Consent First
Before adding a customer to Nodsly, the business obtains consent from the customer through their own intake process — verbally during a service visit, via a paper form, or through a web/CRM opt-in form on their own website.
Business Opens "Add Customer" in the Nodsly Dashboard
The business logs into their Nodsly dashboard and opens the Add Customer form. They enter the customer's name, phone number, email, service, and staff member.
Mandatory Consent Checkbox — Required to Proceed
Before the customer can be saved, the business must check a required consent box confirming the customer has agreed to receive SMS messages. The form cannot be submitted without this step — it is enforced by the platform.
SMS Sent Only After Confirmation
Once the customer is saved with confirmed consent, the business can send an SMS review request from the dashboard. Customers who did not pass through this consent gate are never messaged.
Nodsly Dashboard — Add Customer Consent Screen
The screenshots below show the actual "Add Customer" modal in the Nodsly business dashboard. The consent checkbox is unchecked by default and must be actively checked before the customer can be saved. The Save Customer button is blocked until the box is checked.
⛔ Checkbox unchecked — Save Customer is blocked
✅ Checkbox checked — Save Customer is active
Required — cannot be skipped: The consent checkbox is unchecked by default (Screenshot 1). The business must actively check it to confirm the customer's agreement. If it is left unchecked, the Save Customer button is disabled and returns an error — the customer record is not created and no SMS can be sent. Only after checking the box (Screenshot 2) does the Save Customer button become active.
Required Disclosures in Opt-In
Every opt-in method used by businesses on the Nodsly platform must include the following disclosures, which are shown to the customer at the point of consent:
- Program name: Nodsly review request messages on behalf of [Business Name]
- Message frequency: Message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages per review request)
- Data rates: Message & data rates may apply
- Opt-out: Reply STOP to opt out at any time
- Help: Reply HELP for assistance
- Privacy Policy: nodsly.com/privacy
- Terms of Service: nodsly.com/terms
Sample SMS Message
Once consent is obtained, the business sends a review request through the Nodsly dashboard. Here is a typical message a customer would receive:
Reply STOP to opt out.
Opt-Out Process
Any message recipient can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Once received:
- No further messages will be sent to that phone number
- The customer receives a one-time confirmation: "You have been unsubscribed from Nodsly messages. No further texts will be sent. Reply START to re-subscribe."
- The opt-out is processed automatically and immediately
Customers may also contact support@nodsly.com to request removal.
Help & Support
Any message recipient can reply HELP to any message and will receive:
"Nodsly sends review requests on behalf of [Business Name]. For help, visit nodsly.com/contact or email support@nodsly.com. Reply STOP to cancel messages."
